July 26 - August 1

Since moving to Spokane, I have joined a playgroup. Seems these women know more about running in Spokane than I do! It also seems that Spokane has very high rape statistics. Since J is working 12-14 hrs a day, the only times that it is possible to run outside would be really early, or really late. I have scrapped that idea.

We joined the Y and so I guess I will be a treadmill runner for a year. I will try to do more races too.

Sunday: 40 min
Monday: 25 min
I had every intention of going at least 30 minutes. We were at the Y, I was on the treadmill, the kids were in the play area. Then I felt a tap on my shoulder. One of the day care assistants came to get me because C had gone to the bathroom. After going she refused to put her underwear back on and put her swimming bottoms on inside out. I had to fix that situation. By the time I was done, it was time for C's swimming lessons!
Tuesday:
Wednesday: 30 min

Friday: 35 min
Saturday: 40 min

July 24th

Well, after six weeks of not running, I tried again. Wow, it is amazing how fast my muscles lost their ability to go fast! I made it about 10 minutes before I decided that I had had enough.

I actually did a road race last week called the Cherry Trot. It was a four mile run through the cherry orchards north of Spokane. It was a beautiful run, but since J works nights, I had L & C with me. Therefore I pushed about 100 lbs in my Phil & Ted stroller. Not too much fun. Also, mile 3 was totally downhill (yes, the entire mile) and mile 4 was uphill, to make up for the previous downhill. So the four-mile run took me 52 minutes. Not bad for pushing the kids and walking the last two miles!
